On Friday, September 21, 2001 the entertainment industry
will come together in an historic fashion to
raise funds and raise the spirits of all who have been touched by the
horrific tragedy that has struck America. In an unprecedented cooperative and collaborative effort, ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX will present "America: A Tribute to Heroes," a live two hour, commercial-free, simulcast bringing the American family together to salute the Americans who have directly suffered from this heinous assault on humanity. Among the artists participating are the CMA's reigning Entertainer of the Year, The Dixie Chicks. "We are participating in this event because, like everyone else, we want and need to do whatever we can to help. It's easy and important to send money, but something inside just makes you want to do more. This tribute telethon is a great opportunity to help raise millions of dollars, say thanks to the men and women who put their lives on the line for us and to be a part of this amazing coming together of our nation." The Dixie Chicks will perform a new original song titled "I Believe In Love". The song was written by Natalie Maines, Martie Seidel and Marty Stuart prior to the tragedy. |
